Brockhampton Estate:
Medieval manor house:
The National Trust have some amazing properties and this place is no exception. The grounds are beautiful and the flowers, orchard trees, shrubs and pond is wonderful to look at and spend time around.
These pears are Perry pears, used for making the boozy drink! The windfall under this tree was terrific, and the damsons on the orchard trees opposite were just exquisite ... juicy and sweet.
These stunning roses outside the old Manor look picture perfect against the backdrop of the leaded window. The smell, subtle and delicate as the English garden it is.
The borders just outside the Manor front, brimming with the last blooms of summer. A dolly mixture of colour, plants and scent.
Inside the house, a delicious lavender and rose scent hits you as you climb the staircase. In the bedroom sits a large bowl of potpourri.
On the bed, lies this stunning crewel work cover. The colour and texture, perfect for this light, bright room.
A deadly beauty. Foxgloves are so pretty to look at - but be careful!
I'm a member of the National Trust. They do a fabulous job and it's terrific value for money, plus you get to see some fabulous properties and gardens which you might not otherwise be privy to. The Trust really do have great expertise when it comes to their grounds and they always look so amazing. If you're a florist and appreciate the settings as much as the flora - then I can wholeheartedly recommend becoming a member! They're always looking for volunteers too, so you never know - you could make your fingers even more green than when you've finished a day in the shop :-)
